SCALE OR PERIODONTAL SURGERY
- Teeth sensitivity and slight discomfort of the gum are common symptoms during the first few days after scaling. Avoid sour tasting food and extremely cold or extremely hot food during that period.
- Maintain soft diets for the first week after gum surgery. During this period. Limit strenuous sports and water sports.
- Do not rinse your mouth vigorously for 24 hours after gum surgery. Keep your teeth and mouth clean by brushing gently after meal but avoid touching the wound.
- Take medications as prescribed by the dentist:
- Pain relief medication: Take 1-2 tablets only when necessary.
- Antibiotics (prescried in some cases) : Must take the complete dosage prescribed.
- Special mouth-rinse (use as recommended by the dentist).
